Currently, the commonly - used dehumidification method in the power industry is still heating - type dehumidification. Heating - type dehumidifiers mainly achieve dehumidification by increasing the internal temperature of electrical cabinets. Since air at a higher temperature can hold more water, it prevents water vapor from condensing on electrical equipment terminals and other parts, thus preventing electrical faults such as short - circuits.
However, due to the separation of cold and hot air contained in the circulating air, when the ambient temperature changes, large - scale air humidity will quickly lead to condensation. Therefore, operation and maintenance personnel often find that even in electrical cabinets equipped with heating - type dehumidifiers, there is still serious condensation on terminals and walls, endangering the safe operation of equipment.
This dehumidifier is developed based on the shortcomings of traditional heating - type dehumidifiers.
The dehumidifier utilizes the Peltier effect. The refrigeration chip cools to a very low temperature, forming a water - condensing surface. The water vapor in the air condenses on this surface and is drained out of the box through a drainage pipe. As the moisture in the electrical cabinet is continuously drained out, the air humidity drops significantly. Even if the ambient temperature changes, since there is very little moisture in the air inside the electrical cabinet, condensation will no longer occur. This fundamentally solves the humidity problem.
